About us

Special Beginnings, located near downtown, is a full-service women's healthcare facility. Special Beginnings offers a host of obstetric services including prenatal care for women with low-risk pregnancies and labor. The facility provides two birthing rooms. We also offer well-women exams including diagnosis and therapeutic treatment of routine gynecologic conditions. The primary caregiver at Special Beginnings is Betty Winford Popovich CNM, MS. For more than 40 years Betty has taken part in the early lives of countless babies as a labor and delivery nurse, lactation consultant neonatal intensive care nurse, and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). The combination of Betty's practical experience and advanced education places her in a position to provide extraordinary care for Special Beginnings' women.

Our Mission

We are a faith and community-based organization that demonstrates the love of Christ to women and men facing pregnancy decisions. We offer free pregnancy testing and limited ultrasounds, along with emotional support, educational programs, and Hope through Biblical counsel.

Through education and supportive healthcare, every woman facing pregnancy decisions is able to make life choices.

Our Vision

As a Christ-centered facility, we will encourage every pregnant woman with hope, and education. We will join with the local churches to assist in the needs of these women so they can carry their pregnancy successfully be supported through delivery and have a clear vision for their future in God. That EVERY child is welcomed and nurtured as a gift from God himself.
